On July 1st, I will become the Executive Director of the Larimer Chorale, an auditioned choral ensemble in Fort Collins. The Chorale’s current Executive Director retires at the end of June, and I will step in to manage the administrative responsibilities of the organization such as marketing, communications and fundraising. The position is half-time, allowing me the opportunity to continue my freelance work with other arts partners, including the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra and Cincinnati Opera. I cannot wait to jump in and learn about the Chorale’s challenges and opportunities, and to have live music back as an active part of my life.
The photo above is from a test bike ride to the Christ United Methodist Church, where the Chorale keeps an office and performs rehearsals. The church/office is 5.5 miles from home, reachable by many combinations of the Poudre River Trail, Spring Creek Trail (photo below), Mason Corridor, and Remington Bikeway. I have worked out a direct route that takes about half an hour, and another that is twice as long but winds through parks, prairies and open spaces.
