Lafayette — err, scratch that, Erie

Here’s a picture of a place where Dan and I didn’t eat.

We have made some great friends who live in Lafayette, about an hour from Fort Collins. The plan was to meet them at a favorite hang of theirs, Community… but upon arrival, the restaurant was closing for a private party.

It looked cool. And delicious. We’ll be back.

Instead, we drove 15 minutes to 24 Carrot Bistro in nearby Erie. Very seasonal, farm-to-table-y, almost too cute. Anna’s scallops won out over my gnocchi; I want a rematch.

Speaking of restaurants, I’d also like to mention Fort Collins’ The Kitchen, which we were able to visit recently after catching Black Panther. (I stole picture below from the restaurant’s website; when we visited it was too dark. The picture makes me eager for patio weather.) The Kitchen has a few locations but manages to feel local. Another American bistro, another farm-to-table concept, another solid execution. I liked my pumpkin ravioli, I loved my tomato soup, and I obsessed over my (non-alcoholic) Cider Press. Damn that was a good drink.

Two outta three ain’t bad.

Hello, gorgeous.
